Go on a Hike
Before you strap on Fido’s leash and go off exploring, you should know that only two trails in Smoky Mountain National Park are authorized as pet-friendly trails. The Gatlinburg Trail is one of them. This 1.9-mile trail starts at Sugarlands Visitor Center and winds you and your pet past gorgeous views of the Little Pigeon River. The other pet-friendly trail is the Oconaluftee River Trail. During this one and a half-mile trek, you and your pet will hike through forests and catch beautiful views of the Oconaluftee River.
It’s true! Both you and your furry friends are welcome to shop at the Village Shops in Gatlinburg, a unique Bavarian village themed shopping mall. There’s a store just for animal lovers called Simply Animals you won’t want to miss. They sell everything from outfits for dogs to novelty t-shirts. You can even meet the owners’ pets, Zoey and Max, inside!
Visit Cades Cove
This 11-mile motor trail is the perfect outing for you and your pet! He can stick his head out the window and feel the mountain breeze while you take in the gorgeous scenery, all from the comfort of your own car.
