Dollywood Amusement Park in the Smokies
By now, if you’re familiar enough with the Smoky Mountains, without even having been before, you know what Dollywood is. To say Dollywood is the crowning achievement of entertainment here in the Smokies is not a title lightly given and Dollywood has earned it as a quarter century-long consistent provider of amazing thrills, activities and good old-fashioned Southern music.
If you’ve never been to Dollywood before, be sure to come next time you visit the Smokies.
Besides being a highly rated theme park with multiple theaters and shows, Dollywood employs so many seasonal festivals that just a “normal” period in their schedule is actually quite rare.
They begin the season with Festival of the Nations (late March to mid-late April), follow it through with Barbecue and Bluegrass (May 29th to June 5th, 2013), a short break until the new Great American Summer festival they are introducing this year (June 22nd to August 4th, 2013), a month-long break until National Southern Gospel and Harvest Celebration (October 2nd to November 2nd, 2013) and, finally, Smoky Mountain Christmas from November 9th, 2013 to January 4th, 2014.
You can see more on these festivals at www.dollywood.com. All relevant information to them would make this post a page long!
