Experience the Lovely Laurel Falls

Laurel Falls is a brilliantly tall waterfall standing tall at 80 feet high and offer a powerful rushing cascade of mountain water that disperses into two folds of the waterfall. Laurel Falls can be reached after about a mile of hiking along the Laurel Falls Trail. The trail is 2.6 miles roundtrip in length and is paved for an easy walk up and down the mountain. There are a few spots where you can walk off the trail to rest on a log or stop for a snack. The upper fold of the waterfall is accessible by a bridge. The upper fold has a small pool of water, and the rock formation is wide and flat giving visitors the opportunity to sit for a while and enjoy the mist of the waterfall or play in the pool.

See the Rainbow at Rainbow Falls

Rainbow Falls is among everyone’s favorite waterfall in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The mist that forms at the base of the waterfall creates a prismatic dance of rainbows when the sunlight hits it just right. The Rainbow Falls waterfall proudly pours within Historic Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail a little ways past the Noah “Bud” Ogle homestead.

The Mighty Ramsey Cascades

Ramsey Cascades happens to be the tallest waterfall of all of the waterfalls in Great Smoky Mountains National Park! This massive waterfall cascades at a peak of over 100 feet, rushing water in several directions over large outcroppings from the formation of the waterfall. At the base of Ramsey Cascades is a giant pool of collected runoff water that houses thousands of Smoky Mountain salamanders!
