Grab Your Spot for the Best Fall Views in the Smokies – Check out these 3 Places

We know that fall is a fan favorite for this area. We hope that you are planning to visit us this fall, and if you are, then we have some information to share with you! Are you looking for the best places to view the fall foliage while you’re in the Smoky Mountains? If so, here are a few places you may want to add to your list.

  1. Gatlinburg Bypass: The Gatlinburg Bypass is great any time of year, but it’s a particularly wonderful place to visit in the fall. With the golds, oranges, and reds  adding a vibrancy to the view, you won’t want to stop looking at the unbelievably breathtaking view of Gatlinburg from above that you can see from the bypass. The beautiful city is surrounded in striking color, and it’s a sight to behold.
  2. Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail: While you’re in Gatlinburg, make sure to stop by the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail! You can take this tour in just a few minutes or take the longer route and spend the better part of an hour or two on this auto-tour. Pile in the car, put down the windows, and enjoy an up close and personal view of the fall colors. Don’t worry there are plenty of pull offs along the way with amazing mountain views for you to enjoy along the way, all of course featuring the beautiful reds, golds, and oranges you’re so used to seeing during the fall.
  3. Cades Cove: Another great place to visit and probably our favorite on this list is Cades Cove. It’s a little bit of a hike, but you certainly shouldn’t miss it. On the way, you will pass through a patch of yellow trees we call the golden forest, and it is truly a breathtaking site to behold. You can climb atop a horse and explore Cades Cove on horseback, or you can drive the loop. You can stop for a picnic, and you definitely won’t run out of photo opportunities along the way.

Add these to your list and you will be amazed at the stunning beauty that fall has to offer in the Smoky Mountains. Really, you can’t go wrong no matter where you go, but if you want to see a true natural wonder, make sure to add these to your list of stops!
