Take a trip to one of our favorite secret spots in the Smoky Mountains, Greenbrier. Greenbrier is a relaxing location filled with rushing water and lush green trees. There are plenty of different areas to host a lovely picnic or waterfall walking with your family and friends. Try your hand at counting the hundreds of different types of wildflowers and see the tallest waterfall in Great Smoky Mountains National Park!

Wildflowers Galore

The Greenbrier area is well known for its luscious amount of carpeted wildflowers. The colors of pinks, yellows, reds, violets and whites surround the lands in the blooming months.

Fishing Hole

Greenbrier River is a welcoming fishing hole. The rapids offer enough white capped water for the trout to flourish in. The river is wide enough for fly fishing. All you need is a fishing pole and a can of niblets golden sweet corn, and you’ll have a trout on your hook in no time. Greenbrier River is a fisherman’s dream!


Do you enjoy a nice day away in nature with a basket full of goodies? Greenbrier area has several pull off spots and shaded picnic areas to enjoy a relaxing meal in the sunshine with the family. There is plenty of room to run and play the day away!


Make a splash! The Greenbrier River is fun and inviting for summer fun. Wade in the waters, sit in the currents and skip rocks. Bring inner tubes for floating fun! Always have a partner with you to ensure a safe and fun experience. Don’t let the shade fool you, be sure to keep sunblock with you!

Ramsey Cascades

Ramsey Cascades is a remarkable waterfall in the area. To access the falls, you will need to travel a four-mile hike. This waterfall happens to be the tallest waterfall in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The water rushes nearly 100 feet off of the rock outcroppings from the structure of the falls.
