Spend Time In Nature

There are endless activities in the Smoky Mountains, especially on the Tennessee side. For some, they go there to play and experience the theme parks located in that area. However, for others, they come to take advantage of all the great activities outdoors. Personally, we say enjoy both but find time to spend moments creating memories in nature.

Hiking in the Smoky Mountains

One of the most popular outdoor activities in the Smoky Mountains is iking. There are over 850 miles of trails in the Smoky Mountains. There are hiking trails for beginners such as the Laurel Falls Trail. This trail is 2.6 total miles, and you get the opportunity to see a beautiful waterfall at the turn around spot. You could also see Grotto Falls, which is the only waterfall in the park that you can walk behind. For those who are looking for a harder hike, you could do Gregory Bald. This hike is known for its incredible mountain views at the top. You could also take advantage of Cades Cove, which is a loop drive through with plenty of opportunities to get out and walk around, explore, and have fun with nature.

Horseback Riding in the Smokies

For those who prefer to have another animal do the work should consider having a horse take you around. There is horseback riding through the Smoky Mountains that can provide you with a unique way to see the great views.

However, if you would like to take a more laid back approach to be outdoors, there are plenty of opportunities for you. You could take advantage of the great wildlife around you. Viewing of deer, turkey, and birds are plentiful with bears and coyotes mixed in for your viewing pleasure.

When you go to the Smoky Mountains National Park, you should take advantage of all the nature that is around you. Whether you want to be active or passive in your experience of nature, you will have the opportunity to see it all and have a relaxing Pigeon Forge cabin to call your home base when you’re done your adventurous day of exploring the Great Smoky Mountains.
